Maya Ammarell earned her Master of Arts degree in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from the University of South Florida and is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). She practices from a trauma-informed, person-centered, and solution-focused framework, emphasizing collaboration, empowerment, and respect for each client’s lived experience. Maya is committed to creating a safe, supportive therapeutic space where clients feel heard, validated, and encouraged to build upon their strengths.
Maya has experience providing individual and group therapy, working with adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations. Her clinical interests include supporting clients experiencing trauma, emotional dysregulation, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. She works collaboratively with clients to develop effective coping strategies, improve emotional regulation, and foster resilience while focusing on practical, goal-oriented solutions.
In addition to her clinical work, Maya brings a strong background in vocational rehabilitation and case management, which informs her holistic approach to treatment. She integrates mental health care with functional, social, and vocational goals to support overall well-being and long-term stability. Maya values cultural competence, ethical practice, and individualized care, recognizing the unique strengths and challenges each client brings to the therapeutic process.
Maya provides services both in-person and via secure telehealth platforms and works under the supervision of both a qualified LCSW and a qualified LMHC as she continues accruing hours toward LMHC licensure.
